Question

G'day i am thinking of building a 129 with a jackshaft to the leg re; the questions i asked earlier this year i was wondering about the positioning of the fuel tanks when i move the motor forward about 800mm how will this effect the trim of the boat ? should the tank be forward or either side of the motor?

Answer

If I was building this boat with a stern drive I would put two fuel tanks in each above the cockpit floor under the side deck just forward of half the waterline length. The Alloy Sea Boat standard has this but no body does it. I am only a designer with 50 years experience so what would I know!
