Can this boat be powerd by diesel?
Answer
Yes either a sterndrive or a shaft drive with the propeller in a tunnel. Mods to plan are required
From a strength and hull construction situtation the craft will conform. The craft must be outfitted to meet the USL requirements as interpereted by the State Matine Authority. They all seem to have differences in detail. You will require internal flotation material and level flotation condition to AS 1799 Small Boats Code or you can carry an approved inflatable liferaft .The fuel tank will have to be in a seperate space . Windows will be toughened glass,etc. We will provide you with all necessary submission drawings but you ,as the boatbuilder, are responsible for all the submission of plans and all discussions with the State Marine Authority. The reason for this is that there is too much of our time involved in dealing with all the various State Authorities and the personalities involved
