Question

What would the fuel consumption be on this boat at cruising speed?
What size waves will this boat handle. I live on Lake Erie and sometimes we can get 10ft swells

Answer

Fuel consumption depends on engine size. Recommended engines twin Mercruiser V8 @ 200hp each. Mercruiser should be able to give you fuel consumption figures. Maybe on their web site. In any event this is a convention deep vee planing design and performance will be similar to similar craft. With conventional well designed craft it is the choice of engine, gearbox, prop, and final outfitting weight that determines fuel consumption.

Regarding wave height, we are in a similar situation. Simply put you would not go out in a steep 10 foot swell. If you found yourself in this situation, then my answer is the same as before . It would perform similar to any well designed craft in a similar situation. The US Coast Guard have a rule based on freeboard and length. I think it is length in feet divided by 10 plus the freeboard. This would make the advisable max. sea condition for safe passage by a skipper of average skills as about 6.5 feet
