Question
Hi, Just down loaded the PDF, great info. Wanted to clarify a few things?
Engine cap for 7m 1x200 or 2x150 are both ok? Which is better? On a pod or well?
I was looking for a bowrider for the family, do the plans allow for under floor storage? and would the deck be shaped the same as a walk arround then just add lounge?
Thanks
Answer
Engine capacity. It depends if you want twins or a single. For a family boat I would suggest a single. A 150hp would be adaquate for conventional family use. The big advantage of a single engine is less inital cost, and more room for a boarding platform at the rear
Regarding pods or a well. For diving use a pod with platforms either side and a boarding ladder on one side is the way to go. It is better to board from a platform where your knees can float under the platform rather than from a transom where your knees hit the transom. Having said this there is an option of a half pod and with the sides cut back from the transom to give a larger boarding area. This is the latest fashion with fibreglas boats.
With regards to the bow rider configuration we would provide you with a guidance drawing. It would be similar to the walkaround with the side seats built in. Under floor stowage can be fitted,we can work through the best options over the phone before you start building.
Kind regards Brian Poole
