Question

I need help on powering extended model. Im considering 2-150 outboards (545kg) or single D6 Volvo stern dive (280hp@736kg) do you have advice or recommendations? Are both options available in stock plans. Thank you, Ed from Florida!

Answer

Your choice should be based on the intended use of the boat. If you intend to give the boat a lot of use, and fuel consumption and cost is a consideration then go for the diesel. If you intend to use the boat for pleasure use, with the usual pleasure use hours, and fuel consumption is not a consideration then may be the outboards are the way to go. Both options will perform very well. The plans fully detail both options
