Question
can A single inboard diesel engine be substituted for outboard power in this design?

Answer

There is a stern drive version ( Volvo 41 diesel). The deep vee hull shape is not suitable for a shaft drive diesel. However it is possible to modify the underwater shape into a twisted waterplane aft bottom sections providing the proper buoyancy distribution for the inboard engine positioned amidships and giving room to swim a propeller without very deep draught. Additional detail plans, to facilitate this, with standard plan set $220.00. Recommended engine 4 cyl diesel about 150hp. Speed 24 knots plus. We advise extension to 26 foot for the inboard shaft drive version
