Question
How would this alloy cat handle compared to a similarly sized fiberglass model?
Answer
One fibreglass builder may build a very light craft and another fibreglass builder may work in more material to give an additional margin of strength, for say commercial use. The lighter boat may go faster but may be a little light for bad conditions. The alloy Z cat would be slightly lighter than the heavier glass cat and would be as satisfactory under adverse conditions. You can compare the operating weight for the Z Cat with details supplied by these manufacturers. Apart from the Z bow the Z cat is a fairly conventional hull shape. Have you ever thought how come some builders with completely different hull shape all claim that theirs is the best ever designed. They all cannot be right. Stick with a good conventional hull shape for satisfactory all round performance
