Question
A lot of cats suffer from tunnel slap due to small sponson size, how does the Z cat fare?
What height are the topsides from internal floor measurements?
Is it possible to install larger capacity or extra fuel tanks in a 7-7.5 metre Z cat for long range offshore?

Lets be realistic. All cats suffer from some tunnel slap except when they are on a trailer. Fact is that you are in water which is 800 times nore dense than air and doing 30 knots. its like saying your car should not feel a bump when it goes over a pot hole. The Z cat has conventional dimensions very similar to all good cats.
You worry about tunnel slap and you want to load the cat up with more fuel that is weight. And I guess that you want to trail it that is 2.5 metres legal road width. A 7.5 metre cat deserves 2.75 metres of beam to be a better boat.
OK the cat has one third less buoyancy per center metre of draft than a monohull of the same beam. You can put as much fuel in as you want but you must take a corresponding decress in fully loaded performance, which will probably, in reality, be more than acceptable to you.
Internal floor and deck height. Approx 650mm. If you want more height fit a rail. We try and get sides out of a standard size sheet
