Question

What would classify a sheltered water ? Would Morten Bay (Brisbane) be considered sheltered water ?

Answer

The Marine Authority in each State of Australia classify all navigatiable waters as smooth, sheltered or open.conditions. We have limited this craft to sheltered waters however sheltered waters can become very rough in adverse conditions. We only state that the craft is suitable for use in sheltered waters subject to conditions being favourable and as always the responsibility always rests with the person in charge. It is the responsibility always of the person in charge to recognise dangerous conditions. With regard to Morton Bay it can become very rough. I advise you to seek local knowledge on the practical and safe use of Houseboats on this waterway
