Question
Hello from vancover island canada
I would like to know how stable this boat is at dead stop as I would like to use it for bottom fishing and am looking for a stable fishing platform.
I would also like to use 3/16 plat for bottom and transom and increase the h/p to 115 will this boat handle it. I would also like to know if this boat could be disigned with walk through windshield and self bailing bow platform.
Thankyou Robert Daffurn
Answer
Dear Robert. Albatross is a smaller boat than The Alloy Sea Boat and by logic must be less stable than the bigger boat all else being the same. Albatross was basically designed as a light weight trailable boat. The Seaboat was designed as a heavy duty off shore craft. There is a reduced version of the Seaboat at 5.58 metres on reduced beam if you need a smaller boat. Best however, if you want to build the better offshore platform, that you build the standard hull. Both the reduced and standard have 5mm (3/16\") plate bottom and sides.Single 115 hp on reduced version OK.Prefer minimun on standard Seaboat single 135hp 4 stroke
