Question

I'd like to build this boat as my first boat before building the sea boat. I'd like to go 18 feet in length with a front casting deck and a small center counsel directly behind the front deck leaving a large open rear deck as well. Can I do this? Also, can I raise the sides (sorry I don't know all of the terminology) of the boat for those occasional trips on larger inland lakes. Can the Beam be increased to 7 feet. With the boat being bigger at 18' can I put a 50hp outboard jet on it? Also, can you please email me some pictures of a built version of this boat... Thanks!

Answer

Problem is that while it is easy to extend the length. Once you change beam the plans are no longer applicable and new plans are involved. Further there is so much work involved in a larger Bass Boat that you are better off building the Sea Boat first up as it would be a far more valuable boat that a beefed up Bass Boat
